about us

Loveable is a social enterprise set up in response to the rising levels of social isolation and loneliness in the lives of learning disabled and autistic people. We exist to bring vibey and varied social lives to our communities.

We are a small team of committed professionals and 'experts by experience' who believe in the power of friendship, love, connection and belonging.

Typically, learning disabled people often only socialise within their own paid or family support bubbles. Spaces to socialise evenings and weekend are lacking and there are stereotypes about what disabled people can and want to do. We are here to smash those stereotypes and promote inclusivity in our local pubs. clubs and community spaces. We believe that human connection and friendship is absolutely vital to a meaningful and purposeful life. We are a small organisation on a big mission to inject some fun and love into the world. We want to live in a world where everybody has the chance to love and be loved.

What we do

Loveable is a membership-based community for learning-disabled and autistic adults. We bring people together through regular social events, shared experiences, and supportive spaces where real connections can grow. Membership gives people a sense of belonging to something ongoing – not just one-off events – while our socials, workshops, and support create opportunities for friendship, confidence, and connection in everyday community spaces.

We do things such as pub socials, club trips, theatre groups, DJ lessons, special yoga and many more. We respond to what our community members want. We have regular meetings where all our members can give their ideas on what to do and we where possible we will do it! We even set up with work and voluntary opportunites such as Oliver Mcgowan facilitator training. We are open to ideas!

We support and encourage friendships within the groups and help members to make and maintain those friendships. Many people came to us very shy and nervous with a parent for the first time and now are in friend whatsapp groups, arranging independent friend dates and coming to socials independently. We get to know our members and we all support each other, its a beautiful thing! We believe we have created something vital and special here, and would love for you to join us!
