about us

Loveable is a new social enterprise set up in response to the rising levels of social isolation and loneliness in the lives of learning disabled and autistic people.

We would love to see more connection within the community. Typically, learning disabled often only socialise within their own paid or family support bubbles – we would love to help open up these support networks and help people make friends and meet new people from different backgrounds. We do this within our own communities – in pubs and clubs, music venues, community centres and local spaces. We believe that human connection and friendship is absolutely vital to a meaningful and purposeful life. We are a small organisation on a big mission to inject some fun and love into the world.

We want our learning disabled and neuro divergent friends to be included in the world, and in doing so we challenge the way the world views diversity and disabilty.

In addition to this, we also want to include learning disabled / neurodivergent people into conversations about sexual identity, love and romantic relationships. We will be hosting regular workshops and topic groups around this theme. If anybody meets at our socials or events and would like to take things further we can help you set up a date and next steps. We can provide support and guidance around forming and maintaining personal relationships. We advocate for and empower people to be able to love and be loved.

Loveable was set up by Anoushka and Rachel, best friends with a passion for the people we support. They have many years experience in the social care industry and various skills and qualifications / training.

The board of directors is a committed and professional team of health and social care professionals with numerous years experience.

We are funded by The National Lottery Awards For All and Somerset Community Foundation.
